Text Box: SPIRIT of YOUTH (SOY) Youth Group Teens Encounter Christ (TEC) Is an Anglican based weekend for youth ages 16-21 to gather together for fun, learning and fellowship. Through a series of talks, discussions, and through live worship you will learn about and experience Jesus Christ. The gathering takes place May 17-19 at the Anglican Diocesan Centre, Halifax. Fees for the weekend are $60.00 Applications can be accessed from the diocesan website or from Archdeacon Cutler. There is only room for 30 participants. Deadline is May 1. Youth Ministry This fall we started a new group for young people in Junior High. The group meets weekly during the 9:15 service, and plan activities. For more information contact Maxine Simpkin or Dawn Reid. Youth Music Ministry The Youth Music Ministry is resuming as a children’s choir for the 9:15 service. Practices are at 8:30 AM on Sunday (before the service). Letter from Diocese Youth Coordinator. If you are interested in becoming a server please contact Archdeacon Cutler. Children in Communion Our Church acknowledges that anyone who is baptized may receive Communion. This is consistent with our belief that Baptism is full initiation into the life of the Church. While any baptized person may receive communion, the decision for a child to receive really falls to the parents of the child concerned. For those who do desire their children to receive at an earlier age, the Church offers a program of preparation to receive communion entitled: "Life In the Eucharist". The program materials are designed for children 7-10 years of age, and are meant to be used in a family setting. The program will involve three group meetings as well as work to be done at home over a six week period.
