Text Box: PARISH EVENTS Fellowship We get to know one another at a number of fellowship events throughout the year: Welcome Sunday, ‘Advent Event’, Lenten Luncheons, Coffee Hours and more! Text Box: Pre-Authorized Giving Application forms to participate in the Pre-Authorised Giving Program (PAG) are available at the back of the Church. A Limited Edition Print of St. John’s Church by local artist Mark Gothreau is available for purchase by signing up at the back of the church. A sample of the print is on display. Price is $20 with half being returned to the church.
Text Box: Parish Council is looking for people to serve on the ministry committees of the Parish. The committees plan and carry out much of the ministry that we do. The Groups & Committees page has a list of the committees with a brief description. If you are interested in one of these areas of ministry, or if you have some skills in these areas we need you! If you have questions about the committees please speak to the clergy or the wardens. Warden-in-Training At the Annual meeting we did not elect a warden-in-training. The Parish Council is searching for someone to fill this vacancy. The Warden-in-Training, attends Parish Council meetings and is involved in the direction of Parish ministries for one year before normally beginning a two-year term as warden. If you are interested or would like more information, please contact one of the Wardens or the Rector. Shared Ministries As our Stewardship Committee has begun a review of our ministry and vision for the future, two things have become quite clear: We don't minister in a vacuum, and we are not the only Anglican Parish in Sackville. This led the Council to hold a joint meeting with the Parish Council of the parish of St. Francis by the Lakes to begin to explore areas of ministry where the two parishes can share resources. This is in addition to the shared programming that the Mothers' Union branches and the Men's Fellowship have already done. Catering Group This small group needs help to continue this work. If you can volunteer some time to prepare or serve food or do hall set-up, please contact Dawn Reid. Text Box: Our next celebration of Holy Baptism will be on Sunday August 5 at the 10am. If there is something special you would like to announce or you would like to remember someone in a special way, you may sponsor a particular Sunday’s Bulletin. Cost: $25.00. Instructions: You will have to think about what you would like to say, have it written down and ready—then call Collette Lawrence and book the Sunday you would like your special announcement/memorial to appear. If that Sunday is available you notice will appear on that day. If that particular Sunday is already booked you will have to pick another Sunday. On the Sunday that you booked, please put $25.00 into a sealed envelope, mark on the outside of the envelope (“For Sponsoring the Bulletin, along with you name and the date”.) Thank you.
